About Us
Locals was born in 2005 when local craftsmen renovated a building purchased by John and Melissa Goodson, anchored in the village of Sewanee, Tennessee. Constructed in the 1920's, the original structure housed a dry cleaning business, a bank, a general store, the local electric company and finally a weekend antique store. Once renovated, Locals opened to showcase area artists' works in canvas and paper, mixed media, handblown glass, fine ceramics, hand-loomed textiles, wood, copper patina and sculpture in bronze and stone.
2024 marks 19 years of operation serving fulltimers, part-timers, weekenders and day trippers on 'The Mountain'. Sewanee is a beautiful and rare home for all of us. Locals joins the community restaurants and shops welcoming everyone who stumbles in, accidentally or with any form of purpose to Sewanee, Tennessee.
