With the 1-dimensional medium of paper, Kate Gundersen creates incredible detail in Northern Lights’ featured village. The perspective of this papercut is set with an unassuming staircase at the bottom left. From here the eye travels across a canal to a neighboring village where you’ll find quiet balconies and boardwalks. Above the horizon line a blue cyanotype paper dictates a night sky, where tiny holes reveal yellow stars.
