Hal Broyles was awarded Middle Tennessee State University's first Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in 1954. He then proudly served as a technical illustrator for the U.S. Air Force for more than 30 years at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
Now retired, Hal and his wife Charlotte still call Tullahoma home. Here he continues to embraces his artistic talents in the form of abstract expressionist drawings. At 92-years old, Hal has perfected his craft, using oil pastels and pencil to create drawings with a modernistic edge. He keeps his abstract forms and lines to a minimum, allowing vibrant colors to take center stage against the bright white of his works’ archival paper backdrop.
