The Sewanee Fog candle was first poured in 2017 when Joseph Riley Land, C’98, was tasked by The University of the South to create a special Sewanee gift. Its popularity sparked a full line of coveted luxury candles under the Riley/Land brand Joseph founded.

Riley/Land began as a tastemaker’s gourmet pantry and has since evolved into a curated lifestyle brand. Joseph continues to handpick each made-in-the-south product, and most recently served as designer for a Tennessee-made leather bag collection.

Twice a year Joseph hosts a Riley/Land pop-up here at Locals.
